Maker's Story: I am an illustrator based on the South Coast creating illustrated goods such as prints, stationery and greetings cards, as well as working on apparel graphics and artwork for surfboards and skateboard decks.

Using vibrant colours, playful patterns and a variety of medium, my work stems from my love of the sea, adventure, and travel. I am making a conscious effort to make products that are eco friendly, using recycled options wherever possible as well as being environmentally friendly in my studio.

Whether it's a surfboard design, a print, or a greetings card, if you are interested in a custom order, then I would love to chat.

Dorset Team Christmas Fair: Katie will be selling her colourful prints and cards at the Dorset Team Christmas Fair on Saturday 3rd December at the Allendale Centre in Wimborne.

#DorsetTeamTips - How to increase traffic to your shop

Our #DorsetTeamTips for this week are about how to increase the traffic to your shop:

1. Use social media such as pinterest, twitter, facebook and instagram to share your items with a link to your listing.

2. If you have a blog, backlinks (links to your shop) are a great way of boosting SEO for your shop

3. Remember to include your shop website address on your business cards and email signature

4. Work on your tags and titles to ensure a good SEO ranking (Where your shop shows up in search engine results)

What is Craft Party?

Each year, all around the world, people come together on the same day in locally organised Etsy Craft Parties. The idea is that it is a fun gathering and a way to get together local creative to create together and inspire one another. It is a great time to meet other local creatives, share a creative skill and who doesn't love a party?!

The Dorset Team will be hosting a Craft Party this year in Poole. The theme is Kaleidoscope and we will be focusing on paper craft, in particular collage but please feel free to come along and do any type of craft.

The event is free.


Things to bring:

*Old Magazines to collage with

*Paper

*Glue

*Scissors etc

So you can make some beautiful collages and paper crafts and of course any other crafting materials you have laying around which you can use.
