Announcing our Dorset Team makers and sellers for our Dorset Team Christmas Fair 2023 in Wimborne

Our Dorset Team Christmas Fair has proudly been running for over 10 years in the same venue! It is a much loved event in the calendar with a chance to shop from lots of amazing makers and sellers from right across Dorset.

With the Dorset Team being the local Etsy team, most of our sellers at Etsy sellers and often are only found online so this is a great opportunity to shop in person and pick up some really unique gifts.

Dorset Team News - May 2019

Happy May everyone!

Hope you have all been enjoying the warmer weather, blue skies and sunshine!

Thank you for everyone’s continued support of the team and it has been great to see lots of new members joining us too. Lot of members reached big milestones in their Etsy shops in April from starting their shop, making their first sale to members who have recently hit big sales milestones. Congratulations everyone!

This month we have a busy month ahead for the team with lots going on.

DORSET TEAM SPRING FAIR

This Saturday (Saturday 4th May) we have our Dorset Team Spring Fair 2019 at the Allendale Centre in Wimborne. We have 60 stalls by Dorset Team members all under one roof!

If you are free that day, please do head down to the fair, it is going to be a fantastic day out and great way to support local independent makers and sellers and see what the team is all about. There will also be a small stand with some more information about the Dorset Team and joining us. (Can’t make the fair ? Sarah is based in Bournemouth and makes hand drawn badges featuring her illustrative animal characters and hand printed greetings cards and has been running her Etsy shop since 2017.
She graduated from the Arts University Bournemouth with a Textiles degree.

Dorset Team Christmas Fair - Bark and Banter

The countdown is on to the Dorset Team Christmas Fair which is taking place on Saturday 1^stand Sunday 2^ndDecember in the Allendale Centre, Wimborne.

Each week we are going to be meeting a different stallholder who will be selling at the event.

This week we meet Caz Brown of Bark and Banter who sells leather handbags, accessories and dog collars.

Caz has been a creator all of her life. She spent her early days with her grandmother, who was a gown maker, in her workroom making small bags out of scraps of fabric. Later she moved into jewellery design and learnt how to silversmith and make her own glass beads.

Caz says her business and use of leather “started because I couldn't find a suitably grand collar for my Great Dane Ruby.” So she enrolled on a weekend course for traditional hand sewing leather skills and became hooked.

“The smell, the feel, the look of leather, along with its tactile nature is something I have grown to love. It continues to move and change over time with age, and use only enhances its beauty.

Over the last three years the yearn to make bags returned, and I started to design and create my own range of bags that are just that little bit different. I was always taught as a child that "beauty comes form within" and with that in mind my bags are lined with beautiful fabrics and vintage prints ( some preserved from my grandmothers era!) and my aim is that they are as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside. “

Spring Fair - Featured seller - Love from Hetty & Dave

For the past few weeks we have been featuring different makers and sellers on our blog who will be selling at our Dorset Team Spring Fair in Wimborne on Saturday 5th May.

This week our featured stallholder is Zoe who runs Love from Hetty & Dave .

Zoe is based in Bournemouth and makes hand stitched leather jewellery, customised shoes and handbags, plush slugs (!!).

Zoe graduated from Kent Institute of Art & Design in 2001 after completing a degree in silver smithing. After graduating she was drawn to the more tactile qualities of leather and textiles and in 2004 begun making her own range of hand stitched leather handbags, purses, brooches and necklaces which successfully sold these at famous Portobello and Spitalfields markets in London.

In 2007 she set up her shop on Etsy and sells her wares all over the world from Etsy, her website and boutiques in the UK, Europe and Japan.

Zoe has had a number of celebrity customers including Amy Winehouse, Deborah Meaden and Jodie Harsh.

Zoe is also the author of the book 'Love Leather Accessories' and has starred on 'Kirsty Allsopp's Handmade Christmas'.

Announcing the stallholders of our Dorset Team Spring Fair 2018

We are so excited to announce the stallholders for our Dorset Team Spring Fair 2018 which will be taking place at the Allendale Centre in Wimborne on Saturday 5th May between 10am - 4pm.

Entry to the fair is FREE and there will be a wide range of different handmade, vintage and craft supply products.

This is a a great way to 'shop small', meet local creatives in person and pick up some unique items and gifts.
