Dorset Team Winter Fair 2022 - Allendale Centre in Wimborne

Dorset Team Winter Fair 2022 will the first of three Winter/Christmas events that we are running. 

We are so excited that this year the Winter Fair is going to be a TWO day event which means....even more makers selling with us across the two days. 

Stalls will be by local artists and makers who will be selling unique, quality products. There will also be some stalls selling craft supplies for those who would like to give making a go and vintage products too. 

Come down and support and shop small this Christmas. 

Entry is FREE and it is going to be a really fun, festive day out. 

When: Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th November (option for one or both days)

We are back and our Dorset Team events for 2021 will be expanding to include a new venue, the Tank Museum in Bovington which will be our largest fair to date.

Dorset Team Christmas Fair - Made by Powley

Each week until our Dorset Team Christmas Fair we are meeting a different stallholder who will be at the event. First up is Jan who is based in Bournemouth and runs her shop Made By Powley.

Jan sells unique handmade ceramics which are contemporary in style and also incredibly functional and are designed to be used and enjoyed. 

She sells everything from ceramic planters to mugs and bowls.

In Jan's twenties she became a potter and owned a studio and a bricks and mortar shop with her best friend. She changed careers to IT but has returned to pottery a few years ago and this time has decided to set up her shop online as well as selling at events such as our Dorset Team Fair. 

She says ' my pottery style has changed, my shop is now virtual but my passion remains constant! Producing pottery gives me great joy. I hope that the items bring joy to their new owner when they are used daily.'

She says she loves to play with clay and when she is not making, she is thinking about making! 

The Dorset Team Christmas Fair will be on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd of December and Jan will be selling on the Sunday. Please pop the date in your diary, it is going to be a really fun, festive weekend with lots of beautiful stalls to browse. 

The fair is taking place at the Allendale Centre in Wimborne from 10am - 4pm each day. Entry is FREE and the fair will be set over two rooms with 60+ stalls each day.

Dorset Team Spring Fair 2018 - Featured Seller - Studio Pickles

Over the next few weeks on our Dorset Team blog we are featuring some of the sellers who will be selling at our Dorset Team Spring Fair in Wimborne on Saturday 5th May.

This week, our featured shop is Studio Pickles which is run by Natalie and Jo, two designer- makers who have been best friends since primary school and who love making things. 

They will be selling their pom pom fairy lights and range of colourful earrings at the Spring Fair. 

All of their earrings are hypoallergenic with plastic backings that can't trigger a metal allergy and they always love receiving custom orders. 

“We love doing custom orders and will happily make something special just for you to buy at the fair!”

Maker's Story:

I am a mum of two and have enjoyed arts & crafts all my life. My mother is an artist and crafts person too, so she showed me the way. I've been blogging about my crafts since 2008 at http://jennifergracecreates.com. 

I love to own bright jewellery and fun items as well as giving them as gifts, so one day I decided that I was going to design and make my own. In early 2014, I took the plunge and bought a drawing tablet and Adobe Illustrator software. I spent hours upon hours after the kids had gone to bed learning how to use Illustrator and developed my own designs based on themes that inspired me.

I began creating and selling stencils and embellishments for crafters on my other Etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/happyscatter, which I loved doing and still currently create items for. Nevertheless, I always wanted to have another shop with colourful things that I could lovingly paint or make myself. In 2015 I designed some pendants and earrings, but given that I had a part time job, two children and volunteered for a girl guiding group and my kid's school's PTA, it took me a while to get things up and running. 

Now I am very happy painting and crafting away. Most of my items can be customized to suit you or your gift recipient  by choosing the colours or text.
