Announcing the Dorset Team Christmas Fair Stallholders - 2019

We are so excited to announce our stallholders for the Dorset Team Christmas Fair 2019 at the Allendale Centre in Wimborne.

We have a brilliant selection of stalls this year with everything from vintage homewares to handmade ceramics and from craft kits and supplies to knitted hats!

There will be something for every taste and budget all by makers and sellers who also sell their wares on Etsy.com and are part of the Dorset Team community.

Dorset Team Pinterest Board - Autumn

Happy Autumn everyone, as the leaves start to fall and the darker evenings begin we thought it would be a good time to share with you all our collection of beautiful products by Dorset Team members on the theme of Autumn.

All products on this board are by members of the Dorset Team on Etsy and are either handmade, vintage or crafting supplies. With a huge thank you to Jeni and Lynn for running the boards and to everyone who has been adding new products to them.

Dorset Team Spring Fair - HexNex




Our Dorset Team Spring Fair is fast approaching, it is being held on Saturday 5th May at the Allendale Centre in Wimborne. 

It is going to be a fantastic day with 60+ stalls run by Dorset Team sellers. Over the past few weeks we have been featuring different stallholders who will be attending. 



This week it is Laura from HexNex Jewellery who sells handmade, stylish, silicone teething necklaces for mums to wear and babies to interact with. 

HexNex jewellery began when Laura was on maternity leave with her eldest son. She says “I quickly discovered (as do most Mums) that jewellery was no longer an option! I began to look for something that was “baby-proof”. Teething necklaces were popular overseas but there wasn’t much available in the UK so Laura decided to design and create her own. She was made redundant shortly before returning to work so decided to take this as a sign and give her business a chance to be her full time job. 



“It's been 18 months and I have never looked back since! HexNex recently celebrated 1000 Etsy sales and every single order means the world to me as I'm always grateful people have chosen to purchase from my store. Our range is constantly being updated and we are inspired by the seasons, the current colour trends and all sorts of other random things around us! The jewellery is the perfect accessory for breastfeeding, baby wearing and teething with BPA free silicone which is safe to chew on and offering an alternative for fiddly little hands to pulling Mum's hair or scratching her skin.”

Meet the Seller - Dorset Team Christmas Fair - Ruth from Satis House Five

Sells: Lightboxes, jewellery & supplies for fellow crafters

Maker's Story: I started my shop in 2011 selling mainly Jewellery before discovering a passion for making Light Boxes - this has definitely taken over my creative work and whilst I love working with different types of media (paper, metal, fabric, etc) the boxes are now my main focus.

 I have only been making Light Boxes since 2014. This was a complete accident as I came upon the idea completely by surprise: having reluctantly agreed to accompany my husband into an old Photography shop, there was an old dusty box of Magic Lantern Slides. I completely fell in love with them and decided I had to do something with them to bring them back to life. I decided that the slides needed to be lit in order to bring them back to life. From there, I then developed the vintage style light boxes - instead of using slides, I use images I love that are printed on a thick tracing paper.
 I make all boxes from scratch, I can do custom orders too. My next project is to create Light Boxes using 35mm slides so watch this space!
 
Doors open at 10am and close at 4pm and it is free entry.
