Community News: Changes to Etsy Search and Sellers Advisory Board

Changes to Etsy Search
Etsy are doing another round of tests with a view to 'tailoring' search results to the individual shopper based on their Etsy browsing and purchasing history. This means that the search results seen by one person will not necessarily be the same as those seen by another, even if they both use identical search terms.
At present they are not suggesting we need to make any changes to our titles and tags but if you have been used to checking where your own items appear in a search, you won't necessarily get meaningful results any more. The best you can do is to log out of your own account and use the search 'incognito' so the results aren't affected by your browsing history... Read more in the Etsy announcement here: https://www.etsy.com/teams/7716/announcements/discuss/17343108 - this post has links to further resources and information.

Seller's Advisory Board
Congratulations to Team Captain Rachel on being asked to be part of the 2016 Seller Advisory Board - only 15 sellers worldwide were selected to be part of this group so it's an amazing achievement! Rachel will be heading to New York in March for her first meeting. Treasury Tuesday Theme: My Unique Style

Last week's Treasury Tuesday theme seemed to get the team creative juices flowing, so by popular demand we're going for more of the same this week!
So the theme again this week is "my unique style". Whether you're a veteran at putting Etsy treasuries together, or you've never done one before, go wild and pick all your favourite Dorset Etsy Team items....things to wear, things for your home or just things that you'd love to sit and look at all day :-)
Please use our #DorsetTeam on social media to share what you've created. This is a great way to connect with the community and get our products seen by a wider audience.

For an explaination on treasuries see here: https://www.etsy.com/teams/14319/dorset-etsy-team/discuss/16990487/

Treasury Tuesday Theme: Midnight

Photo Credit: WolfandI  who are members of the Dorset Team

Big thank you to everyone who made beautiful treasuries on our theme for last week which was 'Words and Stories'. It was wonderful to see everyone's interpretation of the theme and lots of beautiful collections which were shared across social media and hopefully bringing some traffic to all your Etsy shops.

Our Treasury Tuesday theme for this week is Midnight.

Please let your imagination run wild and think as literally or as outside of the box as you would like to.

Some inspiration for the theme...

- Moon
-Stars
-Stargazing
-Time
-Owls
-Moon gazing hares
-Monochrome

Can't wait to see what the next Treasury Tuesday themes will be? Please take a look at this link to find about more. The link also contains a link of where to find out more information about treasuries and how to make them.

Please remember to tag your treasuries with 'DorsetTeam' so that we can find them and share them on social media using #DorsetTeam

The Dorset Team's featured product for today is this very special botanical necklace by Amanda Harris of Amare Argentum. A detailed Eryngium seed head in silver is set against a bronze Viburnum leaf.

Amanda says: 'Both the leaf and seed heads that this piece is modelled on were gathered from my garden making this piece unique. '

The pendant is modelled in fine metal clay and then fired to remove the clay, leaving just the metal behind to be carefully filed and polished.

Amanda also creates her own lampwork glass beads and a range of beaded jewellery.

You can find Amanda's beautiful Etsy shop here: https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/amareargentum
